Quotes This Week

"The new P3 delivery model has facilitated the reality of this project.  I compliment the bold actions of the provincial Liberal Government, the Region, and Partnerships BC for leading the change in this new process.  At a time of a booming construction industry and excessive construction cost inflation, this process has guaranteed the delivery of this hospital at a fixed price that is tens of millions of dollars cheaper than if delivered the conventional way."
Paul Douglas, president and CEO, PCL Constructors Inc.  Speech at the “Topping off” ceremony of new Abbotsford hospital, June 16, 2006.

"In B.C., the office of the auditor-general has reviewed several P3 projects that were found to deliver value for money for taxpayers, including the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, the Sea to Sky Highway improvement project and the Canada Line rapid transit project."
Philip Hochstein, president, Independent Contractors and Businesses Association of BC.  Vancouver Sun, June 22, 2006.
