OLYMPIC FLAME COMES BACK TO BRITISH COLUMBIA

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay returned to British Columbia. The flame was welcomed by Premier Gordon Campbell and representatives from British Columbia and Alberta at the Kicking Horse Pass.

PROPOSED TAX CREDIT EXTENSION BENEFITS MINING INDUSTRY

The Province intends to introduce legislation to provide greater certainty to British Columbia's mining industry by extending the BC Mining Flow-Through Share Tax Credit for another three years to 2013.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACTION PLAN LAUNCHED

The B.C. government is taking immediate action to protect victims of domestic violence and ensure offender accountability, Solicitor General Kash Heed.

"I think that the initiatives outlined today are a good step, and I'm delighted that government has shown the initiative. The Solicitor General, as a lead, has actually said that there'll be some immediate steps taken, at least in the capital district, and, within 60 days, a more complete response to the recommendations in my report and the coroner's inquest jury."
