$225M in Housing Investments to Create 1,006 New Homes

The Province of British Columbia, City of Vancouver and the Streetohome Foundation are partnering to provide more than 1,000 new supportive-housing units in Vancouver, announced Premier Gordon Campbell.

Single System Means More Money for Classrooms

Four school districts have been selected to provide early leadership as the Province moves school districts to shared payroll and business administration systems, which will focus dollars on students instead of administration.

B.C. has Lowest Heart Attack Rate in Canada

An independent national report confirms that British Columbia has the lowest heart attack rate per capita in Canada and leads the country in several other health indicators.

"This is the single largest contribution to housing for the homeless that we've seen in the city of Vancouver, and it's a very healthy relationship between the province of British Columbia who put in the lion's share of money... This is the first time that a model like this has been undertaken here."
