Premier Gordon Campbell helps break ground on the Northern Cancer Care Centre in Prince George, which will generate up to 445 construction jobs.

CONSTRUCTION STARTS AT CANCER CENTRE FOR THE NORTH

Premier Gordon Campbell and Health Services Minister Kevin Falcon, together with health and local government representatives, celebrated the start of construction on the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North.

NEW PORT MANN BRIDGE TAKES SHAPE: PROJECT 1/3 COMPLETE

The Port Mann Bridge/Highway 1 Improvement Project is one-third complete, on time and on budget, Premier Gordon Campbell and Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond announced as pre-cast bridge segments were installed on the new bridge.

COMMUNITIES RECEIVE $38.6 MILLION FOR LOCAL PRIORITIES

Public safety and other important municipal services will be getting a boost thanks to $38.6 million that the Province is providing to 188 of B.C.’s local governments in the latest instalment of the Strategic Community Investment Fund.

CELEBRATE OUR PROVINCE ON B.C. DAY

Premier Gordon Campbell issued a statement in recognition of B.C. Day, Monday, August 2.

"The early results of B.C.'s carbon tax experiment are in, and they look positive. At a time when political leadership on climate change is sorely lacking, B.C. has stuck its neck out and done what most experts say is the right thing. Let's hope other governments -- in Ottawa, Washington and around the world -- are watching."
