| BC NDP Fail Their Constituents on the HST
April 15, 2010 VICTORIA – Surrey-Panorama MLA Stephanie Cadieux pointed out the Opposition’s incompetence in the B.C. Legislature this week as the BC NDP failed to correct misinformation, perpetuating myths on the Harmonized Sales Tax. “One member of the NDP read a number of e-mails that she'd received from constituents. What she didn't mention was whether or not she'd bothered to correct any of the misinformation that had been written in those e-mails,” said Cadieux regarding comments made in debate by NDP MLA Diane Thorne on Monday. In her debate on the HST, Thorne mentioned several mistruths she’s heard from her constituents but did not take the opportunity to provide the correct information. With the BC NDP failing to do their jobs, Cadieux cleared up some HST myths. The BC NDP say books, including textbooks, will cost more. They are wrong. The BC NDP say basic grocery bills will increase. They are wrong. The BC NDP say all wedding costs will go up. They are wrong. “Those are all good pieces of news that I hope that the member opposite bothered to let her constituents know about,” concluded Cadieux.
